Stephen Roberts
Funeral Director / Embalmer
Stephen has a wide set of life experiences, he qualified as a Registered Nurse where he worked in orthopaedics and Oncology, this has given him a deep understanding of the trauma death can cause a family. He currently holds a Practicing Certificate in Funeral Directing.
He was a case manager for many years at ACC and brings a depth of understanding to his roles of Funeral Director and Embalmer. Stephen is also the team fixit guy and is actively involved in all aspects of our behind the scenes work.
Although originally from Nelson, Stephen moved to Christchurch 30 years ago and now considers himself a Cantabrian.
His three children have now all left home, leaving Stephen free to enjoy a life of tramping, hunting, pottering in his Man Sanctuary (the quintessential workshop) and 'playing' with model trains.
It is a wonder that Vanessa still cooks his meals and irons his shirts! Stephen is active in his church and is the proud servant of two cats and one dog.
